The Marton Oak
Darnhall is the at the heart of Cheshire, and so an oak tree has been planted next to the Village Hall. The tree was grown from an acorn from the oldest oak in Cheshire, and one of the oldest oaks in Britain, which grows at Marton near Holmes Chapel.
The Tree Planting Ceremony :
The Chairman of Cheshire County Council and Lawrence Jinks, Chairman of Darnhall Parish Council, prepare to plant the tree.

The Hignett family - three generations of Darnhall residents at the tree ceremony stone : in the middle - Mrs E Hignett, the oldest resident in the village, son John and daughter Mrs M Navsham behind, grand daughter, Mrs A Clarke on her right, and great grandson Mister J Clarke at the front.
