The Chairman also expressed his thanks to all the members of the fund raising group and councillors who had made the Barbeque such a successful night. The postman had reported a break-in at the Raven Inn to the Chairman, the Chairman contacted the Police and the Owner. On this occasion a copper cylinder was taken and on a more recent occasion slates have been taken from the function room roof. The police and the owner have been helpful on both occasions. Matters Arising
161/2001 The Village Hall Support Group
Councillor Wood was unable to attend but had held a meeting with the funded raising group the previous week.. The work on the hall is expected to commence in early January and be completed by March. This being a time when the hall is used less due to the cold weather. Sources of funding for Car Parking is still being sourced. Councillor Tomlinson gave a report on a meeting he had with Mr Gunton regarded the floor surface for the main hall. Councillor Wood had confirmed there will be lighting on the car park for winter.
12/2007 Village Hall Fund Raising Group
The clerk gave a brief report on the Barbeque with £240.00 having been made, it was good to see some new faces and young families attending and it is hoped that this can be encouraged. A meeting had been held on the 25th September and much progress had been made. Mr L Jinks who is Chairman of the Parish Council is now organising the 200 Club with continued help of Mrs C Salmon. Councillor Gee will now take over as Chairman of the Fund Raising Group due to the resignation of Dr D P Kelly. It is hoped that two residents from Moors Lane will join the group, who will no doubt bring some new ideas. The draw for the 200 Club will take place in October, at a date yet to be determined.
Councillor Tomlinson had been involved in a Race Night held at Winsford Sailing Club and having told the council about it, agreed to help organise a similar event for the Fund Raising Group in 2009. Events are to be advertised on the website.
30/2007 Parish Assembly
The date for this meeting will be discussed again next month. Topics suggested are First Aid or Tithe Maps. The chairman pointed out that user groups had not been asked to the last meeting until the last minute.

14/2008 Community Speed Watch
The council had received an email from Church Minshull Parish Council regarding this. They are currently taking part in this scheme and will shortly be joined be Worleston, they wanted to know if Darnhall would be interested in monitoring traffic on our section of the B5074 thus sending out a message that the B5074 is a route where speed limits need to be observed. After much discussion it was agreed that this was currently unnecessary on the B5074 in Darnhall.
